What is menopause ?

The term menopause comes from the Greek men, menos (month) + pausis (cessation). Menopause in fact defined as the end of menstruation over a period of one year, in the absence of any other condition.
This natural process, which usually occurs in women aged 46 to 54, results from the end of hormonal secretions involved in ovulation and the discharge of  oocytes .
Menopause corresponds to a decline in the ovarian follicle reserve which is established at birth and diminishes throughout life. This natural process is generally characterised by a series of symptoms caused by hormonal changes. Menopause does not occur suddenly, but follows a cycle of menstrual irregularities that can vary in length called premenopause.

Menopause is a key transitional period in a woman's life.

It is more or less difficult, depending on the importance of fertility and femininity for each woman. For some, this change, and the physiological discomfort that comes with it, represents a major source of stress.

Menopause represents more than a third of a woman's lifespan. This is why it is vital to choose therapeutic solutions that are adapted to each woman's situation and can help them enjoy a better quality of life during this period. Hormone replacement therapies (HRT) are highly controversial today and increasingly women are interested in natural and effective alternatives.

It is in this context that Naturex has developed Lifenol®, a patented extract from hop cones.
