Why Hops?

Hops: an ingredient whose health benefits have been recognised since the 7th century

The female cones of hops, or "flowers", have been used to brew beer since the Carolingian dynasty in the early 7th century. At that time, hops were also consumed for their medicinal qualities. Since then, its health benefits have been extensively documented in scientific literature.

Today, the active molecules contained in hops have been clearly identified : hops are an important source of prenylflavonoids, a family of molecules that have been extensively studied (bioavailability, analytical composition, properties, etc). For more information click here.

Thanks to selection of a specific variety of hops, Lifenol® benefits from premium raw materials available in large quantities, which also meet the safety and quality standards of Naturex.
